Am Karsamstag, dem 11.4.2009 fand zum mittlerweile 22. mal der Worlwide SketchCrawl statt, und weil’s worldwide war - let’s try it in english:

On a SketchCrawl day (there are about 3 or four fixed dates in the year, since 2004) artists and illustrators all around the globe grab their sketchbooks and spend the day (or any time span they like, from only a few minutes to 24hrs) scribbling, drawing, painting. (If you’re interseted: Here’s the FlickR-galery of the SketchCrawler’s actual contributions so far!)

If the 22nd Worlwide SketchCrawl had been only one day earlier, on Good Friday, we (i.e. a few illustrators from Cologne) could have sketchcrawled together up and down the River Rhine the whole day. But as we couldn’t spend the saturday together (part of us had to work, part was heading home for Easter holidays etc.) we tried to manage a remote Scetchcrawl group, with motives send via SMS from one to another. The results were often more original than accurate, but it kind of worked.

P.S.: This way to my drawings from the 24th SketchCrawl!
